Mona Lisa Smile

Mona Lisa is such a famous painting. Her smile has been inspiration for many the poet, musician, and artist alike. Here is a fun Mona Lisa inspired project. I am going to refer you to this blog post at Art Projects for Kids. org You will need some black markers or pens with different thickness points and the print-out from the blog. You simply add the rest of Mona Lisa, all you have is her face and hands. I think this could be fun, imagine what Mona Lisa could be doing today. She could be an astronaut, or a princess, or in the WNBA, or in an American Girl Store buying a cool Saige Doll... LOL. The possibilities are endless.

Have some fun with this project, and don't forget that I would still love some of your art sent to me at Lemonhead103@verizon.net so I can do a reader submission post.
Get permission though first!

Saige

Back to School? Hoping you have art in School this year!

I know that there were two books written about me last year while I was in the fourth grade. I made a change in my community along with some of my friends. We raised money to fund an after school art program after our school cut ours due to the budget. I hope you all have art class this year, but if you do not, at least you have me to help.

I am going to refer you to a great blog post I found on a cool leaf designed project, perfect for getting into that "if we are back to school that must mean fall is near" mode.

You can get a great how to from this blog post at Art for Kids.org.

Enjoy, and remember, I would still love some of your art sent to me with permission at Lemonhead103@verizon, and Mom will help me post it here.

Doll Wardrobe Blog Fashion Design Competition... the reason my posts have not been regular.

I have to apologize for my posts not being nearly every day like they were. I have been a busy doll. Other than helping my mom do Vacation Bible School, we entered a fashion design competition. Fashion design is a type of art as well. I can show you what I looked like in the first outfit.

If you like this and would like to vote for me and my mom, go to http://2013dwfashiondesignchallenge.blogspot.com/2013/07/entry-9.html and then comment on that blog post on the contest blog. We have been hard at work making the second outfit for the competition, and I have been modeling it. I can't wait to share it with you. The shirt is hand painted. SO Cool!
I promise to get back to more regular posts on art.

Perler bead fun

So, here is my idea for ways to make mosaics on a small scale at home. My human brothers love to play with Perler beads. Last week I played with them. You can consider them an art supply of sorts as well as a craft. It is easy and fun. You do need an adult to participate. The iron is hot. and dangerous. You can get hurt, so ASK A PARENT, or other adult. DO NOT do this alone if you are a kid. Sorry for shouting but a long time ago mom was ironing, and my brother knocked the iron over when he was running around her and the hot iron hit his leg and he had a burn line down his leg. Mom yelled about running around while she was ironing his shirt bur he did not listen. I don't want to see anyone get hurt.

Perler beads are like a mosaic, which is a type of art where you use small bits of color to make a picture. I made some picture of dogs, my brother Avery made a rainbow and Ryan made a few things. I will post a photo of what we made. You can learn more about Perler Beads on their website.

Perler beads are placed in a design on a peg board, then when you have your design done, you cover the design with a parchment paper and iron it to melt the beads together. You can also find other crafts that you can make.

I made the three dog designs and my brother made the others.

Using Perler beads is a fun way to express art. Art is everywhere.
